Founded in 1926 as a mining and chemical company, Sapec has expanded its activities as an industrial holding operating under 5 business units, mainly in the Iberian Peninsula, with a core focus on crop protection and nutrition.

Crop protection & crop nutrition

This business unit represents the core business of Sapec and consists of the formulation, packaging and distribution on the Iberian Peninsula of phytosanitary products earmarked for crop protection and crop nutrition. The product portfolio is mainly made up of generic products distributed under the brand names of the subsidiary companies.

Chemical products distribution and environment

Incorporates the packaging and distribution in Portugal of chemical products to the construction, car manufacturing, paper, environment and chemical sectors in particular.

Agro commodities distribution

In Portugal, as well as in Spain, the group developed a significant business importing and distributing raw materials for animal feeds such as cereals, cereal substitutes and proteins.

Logistics

The business focuses today on two activities: on the one hand, the port handling of bulk products and cars and on the other hand the development of a network of multimodal land-based terminals in Portugal.

Energy

This business generates and sells hydraulic energy via 13 mini power stations situated in Spain, with a total installed capacity of 55 MW. This activity is developed by the Spanish company Naturener.
